Joyce Carol Vincent was found just a skeleton in her flat, it is presumed that she was found and had been there for about three years, there is much suspicion and question as to how and why Joyce was left in her flat, nobody would of suspected that a decaying body was sitting on the couch with the tv on, and how and why none of Joyce's family or friends would come and found her. Throughout the film it becomes evident that Joyce's mother died when she was young around the age of 11, and that she came from a middle/lower class background where the father was hardly ever present and she was brought up by her sisters.
The film was a documentary produced by DogWoof, the film tried to appeal to a wide audience such as web designers, geeks, and even Americans-being that a small English micro-budget film, the film was advertised at a FilmFestival in America at the time of the film being released.
The film focuses in on not only Joyce's life and the people around her, but it also reveals an in look into the 80's lifestyle, how race, gender, sexuality and social life were represented and how life in the 80's may of seemed and how it may of been for Joyce being a young adult and how she may of experienced it given what people around her said about Joyce and how her life may of been.
