Source Code Analysis

Source Code

Source Code is a 2011 action thriller film that shows the warped and technical story of a soldier who is being used by Military technology to go back in time into someone elses body to find the bomber of that train before 3 minutes are up the train blows up, making the soldier come back into his 'real' body until he finds the bomber of the train, who has threatened to blow up somewhere else. Directed by Duncan Jones, written by Ben Ripley and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga.

The opening trailer makes us think that the film is futuristic, and that we have an in-look into the american authorities and that what what they are dealing with is something of very high priority, and it makes us question our senses and life.  Time travel makes us want to watch the movie because it is something that we as humans have wanted to do for how ever long, the trailer also highlights how every time the soldier is sent back, it is different. The mission the man has been sent on could potentially be life changing. The non-diegetic sounds hurried with a fast tempo making us feel that this man has no time to waste, before time runs out for him and until the bomber commits another attack..

The film also adds comedy (starring comedian Russell Peters) to the film, in case the back-flashes could be partly tedious. the comedian is well respected and adds comedy to the movie, making us want to watch the movie even more.
